People will spend any amount of money for something that they really want. That being said, some people have too much money and very strange tastes in what they want to have around their personal collections.

ABC News reports that in Chesapeake City, Maryland, an auction house just unloaded a verified watch owned by Adolph Hitler. This piece of history went for a cool $1.1 million.

That Hitler watch was auctioned off by the Alexander Historical Auctions in Chesapeake City. They originally estimated the watch’s value between $2 and $4 million, so someone got a good deal on their Nazi memorabilia.

Jewish leaders objected to the sale of this watch. They claimed that Hitler’s watch has no historical value. The auction house’s director defended the buyer, who is a European Jew themselves.

The watch features the initials AH and a swastika. It was seized by a French soldier as spoils of war on May 4, 1945. It eventually made its way to America and into this controversial auction. We’ll have to see what goes on the auction block next.
