Alex Jones gained mainstream recognition for his controversial show. The Alex Jones Show catered to conspiracy theorists and the far right. It appears that his hoax claims regarding the Sandy Hook shooting have finally caught up to him.

This situation for Jones has been full of trouble. Not only was he outed in a huge way, but he also lost a ton of cash in the process. He was chastised in court, and his attorney also accidentally leaked his cell phone records to the Sandy Hook legal team.

According to TMZ, Alex Jones was recently told to pay $4.1 million in damages to parents who lost their kids during the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14h, 2012.

“The decision, made Thursday by a jury in Austin, TX was for plaintiffs Scarlett Lewis and Neil Heslin, who first requested $150M in compensatory damages when the trial started. Punitive damages will be determined during another trial.”

As previously reported, Jones’ lawyer’s accidently sent a digital copy of his personal cellphone containing years’ worth of emails and text messages to the legal team that sued him for defamation.
