Stranger Things 4 has been another massive hit for Netflix. Fans spent 287 million hours watching the latest season of the paranormal coming of age series in its first weekend. That was followed up by over a billion hours of viewing in the weeks that followed.

The latest chapter in the adventures of Eleven and her friends continues to be popular among Netflix subscribers. The new season is inching ever closer to a record set by the hit Korean gorefest ‘Squid Game.’ Stranger Things could pass it before the end of Summer.

According to Deadline, the latest tally for Stranger Things 4 viewership is very impressive. The final viewership in the first 28 days since its release is 1.352 billion hours. That is the most for any English language series on Netflix.

It’s also more than twice the hours logged by the second most popular series on the streaming service. ‘Bridgerton 2’ has pulled in 656 million hours. Nothing comes close to the popularity of Stranger Things.

The astonishing success places Stranger Things 4 within 300 million hours of Squid Game. That is nothing to sneeze at. The Korean series was a huge cultural phenomenon when it was released.

The Stranger Things saga is finally coming to an end. Season 5 will be the last for the legendary show. Fans will have to wait a while for that, but in the meantime, the latest season continues to satisfy those who want to take a trip to the Upside Down.
