Teen Mom star Amber Portwood recently lost custody of her 4-year-old son. After a protracted legal struggle with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Glennon. The surprising turn of events happened. Amber Portwood has now pledged to “never stop fighting” for her kids.
The court recently decided to give her ex Andrew Glennon sole legal and physical custody of their child. The Teen Mom OG star has now responded in a statement given to Us Weekly. She believes that she should be given another chance to redeem her actions.
I’ve worked so hard to better myself and improve my relationships with my children. While I’ve always been candid about my past substance abuse and struggles with mental illness, a person should have the chance to redeem themselves and not be tethered to their problems from the past. I’ve spent years rebuilding bridges and did everything that was required of me, including submitting 21 negative drug tests and undergoing multiple psychological evaluations, if your road has not been perfect, but you’ve worked hard to become a better, more stable and caring person today, keep moving forward as I will. I’ll never stop fighting for my children who I love more than anything.
Glennon has been given sole legal and primary physical custody of their child by an Indianapolis judge. The 38-year-old Glennon’s plea to relocate with James from Amber’s home state of Indiana to his family’s residence in California was also granted by the judge. Amber was allowed overnight visits.
However, the plan is to be phased in over “incremental time frames” to assist James get used to it. Amber and Andrew is also required to submit to monthly drug tests for the next six months. James’ former Teen Mom was detained for domestic violence in July 2019 and Andrew immediately petitioned for full custody of James. Stay tuned to Thirsty for the latest developments.
