Jim Harbaugh has led the Michigan Wolverines to a ton of success on the field. Outside the gridiron, he has been stirring up some controversy lately. Harbaugh has been making a strong stance against abortion, and many loyal Michigan fans aren’t thrilled about it.

One of the classic arguments against abortion is that there are always couples who can’t conceive that would happily adopt. That’s easier said than done, considering the length and expense involved. Jim Harbaugh has a solution, should his players ever need one.

Speaking with Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN, Jim Harbaugh said he would be willing to raise any player’s baby who has an unplanned pregnancy. This came in the wake of his appearance as a keynote speaker at a recent anti-abortion event. Harbaugh said he encourages his players to go through with any potential unplanned pregnancies.

“I’ve told [them] the same thing I tell my kids, boys, the girls, same thing I tell our players, our staff members,” Harbaugh said on Saturday, “I encourage them if they have a pregnancy that wasn’t planned, to go through with it, go through with it.

Let that unborn child be born, and if at that time, you don’t feel like you can care for it, you don’t have the means or the wherewithal, then Sarah and I will take that baby.”

Harbaugh’s rhetoric comes in the wake of the controversial Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. That left abortion illegal in many parts of the United States. For anyone that is on the fence during an unplanned pregnancy, a call to Coach Harbaugh might be in order.
