Hank Williams Jr.’s Wife Mary Jane Thomas’ Tragic Cause of Death Confirmed

Hank Williams Jr. suffered a horrific tragedy earlier in 2022 when his wife, Mary Jane Thomas, passed away. And now the autopsy has been finally revealed.

Thomas, who was 58, died on March 22nd of a collapsed lung that was punctured during elective surgery the day before, according to a report from the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner as well as an autopsy report. The death was listed as accidental.

TMZ broke the story in March 2022 with a family member who said the early indication was she’d suffered a complication from surgery. Mary Jane, a former model for Hawaiian Tropic, was rushed to a local hospital … and she was pronounced dead about an hour after she first lost consciousness.

The Medical Examiner explained that Mary Jane underwent liposuction on her back, arms and stomach, and had her breast implants removed during the surgery on March 21. The M.E. also said she became unresponsive.
