Rebecca Balding was an American actress best known for her roles in “Soap” and “Charmed.” The actress has tragically passed away after years of fighting ovarian cancer. With the news that actress Rebecca Balding passed away at the age of 73, the performing community is in grief.

Her husband James L. Conway recently confirmed to People that the actress passed away on Monday at her home in Park City, Utah. Balding’s husband Conway, an actor and film director, recalled how they met and how she had been battling ovarian cancer for many years. Balding was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in September 1948, and she studied at the University of Kansas before concentrating on her acting career.

She began her career on TV series like “The Bionic Woman”, “The Tony Randall Show”, “Barnaby Jones”, “The Rockford Files”, “Starsky & Hutch”, and “Supertrain” in guest-starring roles. In 19 episodes of “Soap” between 1978 and 1980, Carol David, the mother of Jodie Dallas’ child, played her first significant role. Throughout the 1980s, she continued to perform often and as Corky Crandall in the sitcom “Makin’ It.”

She kept appearing as a guest star in popular programs including “Cagney & Lacey”, “Family Ties”, “Trapper John M.D.”, “The Fall Guy”, “McGyver”, and she even had a recurring part in “Paradise.” In addition, Balding appeared in the movies “Yesterday’s Dreams” and “ER” as well as the TV shows “Designing Women”, “Home Improvement”, “7th Heaven”, “Melrose Place”, “Beverly Hills 90210”, and “ER.”

Her final role was as Elise Rothman, the boss of Alyssa Milano’s character on “Charmed.” The actress is survived by her husband of 41 years Conway. She is also survived by her daughters, Sarah and Kathleen, and her grandchildren. RIP.
