The Houston Texans are getting ready to kick off their 2022 training camp. For a lot of fringe players, it could be the last chance at NFL glory. Running back Darius Anderson is among them.

The 24-year-old tailback is currently a member of the Texans’ practice squad. The former TCU standout has bounced around among a few teams during his brief NFL career but never stuck. He was hoping that Houston would allow him a chance to shine.

That chance may never come. TMZ Sports has reported that Darius Anderson was arrested on July 15 and is facing some serious charges. Anderson was picked up for burglary with intent to rape. There are no further details outside of a brief statement from the team.

“We are gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”

Darius Anderson went undrafted before signing with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. He lasted a few months before moving on with the Indianapolis Colts. He finally signed with the Texans practice squad last December.

Anderson has never played in an NFL game. These new charges may solidify that fact forever. While details are scarce, Darius could be facing a career-ending jail term if he is found guilty.
