Chelsea Handler & Jo Koy’s Friends Are ‘Hoping They Can Still Work It Out’ Following Split

Chelsea Handler is one of today’s most outspoken celebrities. Chelsea and Jo Koy announced their separation on Monday, after dating for less than a year. Friends of the couple are now hoping that they can work it out.

Friends of Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy are hoping that their relationship will be rekindled. “Their friends are hoping they can still work it out,” a source disclosed to People. “But if anything, it’s clear their relationship has changed them both for the better.”

Handler confirmed the breakup on Instagram on Monday. The former Chelsea host shared a video that was supposed to go live on their one-year anniversary. “It is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now.”

“I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us.

Even after their separation, the two comedians “will always remain great friends and will always have love for one another,” according to Koy’s Instagram post. “I’m her biggest fan and I can’t wait for you all to see what she has in store for the future,” he added. “Keep killing it, Chelsea! Mahal Kita!”

Handler and Koy met over two decades ago through a mutual friend. Koy would later make frequent appearances on Handler’s former E! talk show, Chelsea Lately. The two stars initially ignited dating rumors in September when they were seen getting intimate at a Los Angeles Dodgers game. Later that month, though, she confirmed the connection by uploading a photo of the couple kissing.
