Chris Hemsworth is most renowned for his role of Thor, the God of Thunder, in the Marvel cinematic universe. The actor has always appeared with burly physique in Thor movies. It turns out, his family isn’t big fan of his muscles.

The 38-year-old actor recently spoke with USA Today, where he discussed how his family feels about his body shape. The actor revealed that his wife did not really like him bulking up for Thor: Love and Thunder. Although, Hemsworth impressed his male friends with his devotion to getting in shape for his film, he failed to do the same with family and female friends.

My wife was like, ‘Bleh, it’s too much,’

There are a lot of my male friends who are like, ‘Yeah!’ but a lot of female friends and family are like, ‘Yuck.’

The actor began his incredible transformation during Covid pandemic. At the time, there were nationwide lockdowns in Australia, that didn’t stop him from devoting all his time to working out. Hemsworth said he lifted a lot of weights, did martial arts and ate about 6000 calories a day.

It came from boredom, sitting in COVID lockdown was like a prison. It was one thing to train and eat that much and then sleep all day. Doing this and then a 12-hour set day was something different. It was horrible. I won’t do it again. They can give me a fancy muscle-y costume next time. I’m done.

Chris Hemsworth’s dedication to obtaining his god-like physique is absolutely admirable. It had a significant impact on the actor’s mental health as well. That’s why he said it was the last time he did something like this for a film. Fans will have to wait and see whether he changes his mind in the future.
