‘Euphoria’ has caught plenty of controversy for its portrayals of young people involved in very heavy subject matter. Sex, drugs, mental health issues, and more are depicted in the critically acclaimed series. Despite the weight of the material, those who selected the nominations for the 2022 Emmy Awards were all about the show.

The nominees for the Emmys were announced this afternoon. Euphoria scored nominations for two of the biggest awards out there. The competition could be fierce, however.

Euphoria was nominated for Best Drama Series. It faces the likes of “Better Call Saul,” “Squid Game,” “Stranger Things,” and more. The field is very diverse in that category.

Zendaya, who portrays Rue Bennett in the HBO hit, was nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Big names like Reese Witherspoon (“The Morning Show”) and Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) round out those nominees.
