R. Kelly was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison after his trial for child pornography, sexual exploitation of children, and conspiracy to defraud the United States Government. Kelly has long been labeled as a sexual predator. In a strange twist, one of his alleged victims now says the two are engaged.

TMZ obtained a letter that ostensibly came from Jocelyn Savage. In the document, Savage allegedly claims to be engaged to R. Kelly. Savage asked Judge Ann Donnelly to be lenient in his sentencing in the June 13th note.

“My name is Jocelyn Savage, and I’m Robert Kelly’s fiancé. I’m writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I’m not the victim the government has portrayed me to be.

My relationship with Robert is amazing. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We have a very special connection and are deeply in love. I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him. Robert is not the monster that the government has described him to be.”

The language used in the alleged letter is very similar to that which was sent to the judge by R. Kelly’s attorneys. It is nothing if not curious. An attorney for Savage’s parents said they think the engagement story is bogus.

Only Jocelyn Savage can verify the contents of the letter. It seems strange that an alleged victim would want to marry her abuser. That may not happen unless Savage is willing to speak up.
