With Captain America 4 moving forward, there were rumors that Chris Evans may reprise his role as Captain America, but he was quick to turn down those speculations in a recent tweet.

The Hollywood Reporter speculated that Chris Evans might return to Captain America. The outlet wrote in a tweet, “It is unclear if Chris Evans would reprise his role as the first #CaptainAmerica (though if the question of who is entitled to carry the shield continues, all bets are off). Having stacked casts in solo outings is a key Marvel ingredient at this point.”

It didn’t take long for Chris to reply to their tweet by saying, “Sam Wilson is Captain America.”

The reason this is significant is that it appears to have silenced trolls who are still opposed to Mackie continuing as the main superhero. This is a debate that has persisted since 2019 when he was formally named Chris Evans’ replacement.

Much of the backlash to Anthony has been extremely racist, with many claiming that a Black man should not play the part. The show reveals, based on an earlier canon comic series, that the fictionalized backstory of Captain America is dark, with the US government testing/perfecting the super serum that gives him his powers on Black troops while Cap was beneath the ice.

Captain America 4 will be directed by Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah. It is yet to be revealed when the movie will drop. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates!
