David Moore just recently signed a new contract with the Chicago Bears. The veteran NFL wide receiver has been having a hard time seeing the field during his previous stops in Denver and Green Bay. Moore was hoping to see additional reps with his new team, but he will have to deal with a legal nightmare first.

TMZ Sports has reported that David Moore was arrested earlier this month after falling asleep in a Taco Bell drive-thru. Moore was found by the Gainesville Police Department shortly before midnight on July 3. He was asleep at the wheel of his 2018 Ford F250 pickup.

Police searched David Moore’s car after the suspicious incident. They found a package of THC edibles. They also uncovered three pistols.

Moore was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of weapons. According to Cooke County records, he was booked into jail on July 4. A short time later, he bonded out.

The Texas native was a seventh-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent four years with the Seattle Seahawks, where he amassed 1,163 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Moore also lost five fumbles during his time in Seattle.

In 2021, he barely played after bouncing around between various practice squads. Moore only appeared in three games that season. Given his recent arrest, the Bears might think twice before asking him to play for them at all this season.
