Carlos Santana is one of the true legends of American rock music. The guitar wizard brought together Latin American jazz with popular American themes to create a style all his own. He recently had a very scary incident which left fans wondering about his health.

While performing on stage outside of Detroit, Santana suddenly fell ill and collapsed on stage. EMTs rushed to his aid. A performance in Pittsburgh was canceled while he recovered.

Ultimately, Carlos Santana had suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration. While those can be very dangerous conditions, his wife recently posted an update on Facebook. Cindy Blackman Santana said that Carlos is doing well and will be as good as new soon.

“Hi Everyone! Carlos & I thank you so much for your prayers, love, care & concern for him! Please know that he’s resting and doing very well! He was diagnosed with heat exhaustion & dehydration… it was 100 degrees on stage and 114 under the lights so that coupled with not enough water is what caused the issue. He’ll be as good as new soon! Thank you again and we love you! Cindy & Carlos”

The 75-year-old has had some other recent health issues. The Grammy Award winning guitarist had an unscheduled heart procedure that caused his Las Vegas residency to be postponed last September. Fortunately, it appears he will fully recover from his health issues and be back on the road soon.

Carlos Santana will continue his “Miraculous Supernatural” tour with Earth, Wind & Fire tomorrow night in Noblesville, Indiana. While every health issue is scary at his age, such a visible one had many fans worried. It looks like he will be just fine.
