Kyrie Irving is certainly one of the best basketball players in the NBA, but he became very controversial last year. This is because fans believed his NBA career was done for good due to his refusal to adhere to the COVID-19 vaccine mandates. LeBron James is also pushing for Irving to get traded to the Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers want to improve their overall team, now that the latest season is over. Even with the likes of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis, only LeBron James did a good job during the season.
As previously reported, Kyrie Irving could be reuniting with LeBron James. With Kevin Durant recently asking to be traded, trade talks between the Lakers and Nets for Kyrie Irving have gained steam.
According to Marc Stein in his newsletter, LeBron James is pushing for Kyrie Irving to be traded to the Lakers in exchange for Russel Westbrook the most.
“James, I’m told, wants to see Irving in Lakerland more than anyone. What other team, furthermore, has a LeBron-sized personality with the experience to cope with all the chaos that comes with adding Kyrie? James, remember, has often thrived in chaos.
Yahoo Sports recently reported that there is “optimism” a trade between the two teams will take place at some point this off-season, with the Nets wanting draft compensation as well as shooting guard Joe Harris in the deal. We will have to wait and see whether Kyrie Irving will end up going to the Los Angeles Lakers.
