WWE is the biggest and most popular wrestling promotion in the world, and there’s no denying that. The sports and entertainment juggernaut has a stacked roster of superstars who hail from different backgrounds. The promotion recently made a great addition to its roster.

The addition happens to be Valerie Loureda. For those not in the know, Loureda is a Bellator fighter. The 23-year-old broke the news of her new career path during an interview with Ariel Helwani on his MMA Hour podcast. She later took to Twitter to express her excitement about working for WWE.

I am honored to become the first Cuban American woman in history to sign with the WWE. I come from a family of immigrants, now it’s my time to represent our Latin culture, I was destined for this. Thank you for this opportunity @WWE @WWENXT I will make you proud. AZUCAR! #305

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the deal first came about when her agent, Abe Kawa, was collaborating with WWE on AJ Ferrari’s NIL deal the previous year. She agreed to a contract on Monday, and will reportedly report to the WWE Performance Center on July 19th.
