Daz Dillinger’s rap career saw a noteworthy run. Along with Kurupt, as the duo Tha Dogg Pound, the two released their double platinum debut album Dogg Food in 1995 on Death Row Records. They also frequently appeared on albums by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac.

Daz created songs for ‘Pac like “2 of America’s Most Wanted,” “Ambitionz az a Ridah,” and “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” as a producer. Daz has put out roughly ten Dogg Pound albums and nearly twenty solo albums, including last year’s DPG 4 Life. Daz Dillinger has now decided to leave the rap game.

The Dogg Pound rapper announced his retirement on June 25. Daz took it to Instagram to share the news with his over 633,000 followers. The icon cited a lack of passion for the activity in which he formerly excelled as the reason for quitting rap.

The legend has officially retired. Not my problem anymore.
