Amber Heard has been planning to appeal the verdict of her recent courtroom loss to Johnny Depp. The two sued and countersued one another, with Depp coming out on top. If she fails in her appeals, Amber will owe Johnny millions of dollars.

It makes sense that Amber Heard would want to file an appeal. On Friday, the judge in the case informed Amber that there is a bit of a roadblock on her way to filing that appeal. She will have to pony up some major cash up front to bring her case back before the court.

TMZ reports that the judge said Amber Heard must post a bond for the full amount of the judgment against her. In addition to that, there is a 6% fee on top. The 6% is an interest penalty in case she loses the appeal, as payments to Johnny Depp would be delayed.

Heard’s legal team is intent on keeping up the fight. A representative for the actress said that they believe they are right. Therefore, they plan to exercise their right to appeal.

Public sentiment favored Johnny Depp heavily during the trial. Amber Heard struggled to gain any sort of support. Now, she will have to put up millions of dollars to even have a chance to present her case before an appeals judge.

Time will tell if Amber Heard comes up with the money. It could be a very expensive gamble. Amber’s team thinks it’s worth every penny.
