‘Titanic’ is one of the biggest box office hits of all time. The story of a star-crossed couple on the famous doomed ocean liner captivated audiences in the late 90s. Director James Cameron has completed a 25th anniversary remaster of the classic disaster flick, and it will soon be coming to theaters for a new generation to enjoy.

Deadline reports that Titanic’s remaster will receive a theatrical release next year. 2023 marks the 25th year since the movie was released. The new cut will be available in 3D 4K HDR.

The film follows the story of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack and Kate Winslet’s Rose, who meet on the ship and fall in love. Their story unfolds as the real-life vessel smashes into an iceberg and sinks. The film won eleven Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director.

The combination of a fictional romance with real-life events made Titanic a must-see movie when it was released in 1997. It remains one of the most popular films of all time. Fans are looking forward to the Valentine’s Day 2023 release of the new, upgraded print.

On a $200 million budget, Titanic brought in $2.202 billion in global box office receipts. It tied ‘Ben-Hur’ for the most Oscars won by a single film. A re-release in 2012 to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic brought in an additional $343.6 million.

Fans who can’t wait to see the newly remastered version of Titanic will have to wait a little while longer. It’s certain to be one of the hottest tickets for couples when it drops next February 14. Until then, fans can check out the original movie, which is available to stream on Paramount+.
