Ric Flair has been training with AEW star Jay Lethal for his last match for months. Most people assumed that Lethal would be a part of the show in some capacity. Doubt has now been cast on that prospect after The Nature Boy verbally buried Lethal on his podcast.

With Ric Flair, it is hard to tell where storylines end and reality begins. The entire thing could be Flair setting up an appearance by his training partner at the ‘Ric Flair’s Last Match‘ event this July in Nashville. In any case, he had some choice words for Jay Lethal.

Jay was scheduled to appear on Ric Flair’s podcast this week. He did not make that appearance. Flair said that Jay Lethal will not be a part of the show, at least partially because of a perceived attitude problem.

“Is he gonna hear this, if I say it? I don’t care. He’s got an attitude. He wants to be part of the show. And I said it ain’t gonna happen. You know how that happens all of a sudden and everybody’s feelings are hurt. You know, this is what we discussed, some people’s feelings are gonna be hurt.

I’m not saying anything bad. I don’t have the authority, even though [I am a] co-owner of this venture. I don’t have the authority to put him on the card. So I think he’s upset about that, but he’ll get over it.

They can block this out but you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. And that’s kind of where we’re at with this deal. Edit that please.”

Ric Flair’s final match is rumored to be a six-man tag involving The Rock n Roll Express and a partner. That partner was thought to be Ricky Steamboat, but that has been squashed. Flair could be working on an angle for Jay Lethal to be the mystery opponent. Only time will tell.
