Kaley Cuoco became one of the richest women in television history because of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. She played the role of the fictional character Penny Hofstadter. Only weeks after the actress went public with her current boyfriend/actor Tom Pelphrey, Kaley Cuoco and her ex-husband Karl Cook finalized their divorce.
Radar Online received court records filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by the Big Bang Theory actress recently. A judgement has been issued in the matter, according to Kaley’s filing. When Kaley revealed the breakup in September 2021, she stunned the public.
In the months before, the couple had been all smiles on social media. “I love you oh so much, you have no idea,” Kaley wrote in an emotional email to her then-husband in June. The couple made a joint statement to announce their divorce, claiming there was no “anger or animosity” between them.
They first met in 2016 after bonding over their shared passion for horses. A year later, he proposed, and they married in 2018. Following the divorce filing, a source close to the actress revealed that before she married Karl, she had her legal team prepare an “ironclad” prenuptial agreement.
“Her assets are protected,” the insider claimed, referring to her estimated net worth of $100+ million. Kaley is divorcing for the second time, having previously been married to Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016. She also had a prenuptial agreement in place, which secured her assets, including her money from the Big Bang Theory, in the event of a divorce.
