Clint Bowyer was working as a TV analyst for a recent NASCAR Cup Series race in Illinois. Everything was going according to plan. Tragedy struck as Bowyer was traveling back from the speedway.

According to TMZ Sports, the retired NASCAR star was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue. A pedestrian was walking in the middle of the street. Sadly, he struck that pedestrian with his car, killing her.

Immediately after the collision, Clint Bowyer called 911. An ambulance arrived soon after, but emergency medical personnel were unable to revive the 47-year-old woman. She passed away at the scene. Bowyer released a brief statement on the matter on Thursday.
