Chris Rock apparently turned down the offer which he got informally. He is probably going to pass on the emcee duties as well, according to Deadline’s sources. The comedian is also in talks to be the host for the Oscar’s next year, only adding to high confidence in him.

The Primetime Emmy producers Done+Dusted along with Reginald Hudlin’s Hudlin Entertainment have only the top choices in mind. This is because they are going the NBC talent for nominations.

Rock and Johnson both have strong ties with NBC, which is behind this year’s Primetime Emmy. Chris Rock was on Saturday Night Live at the beginning of his career, which Johnson is executively producing NBC’s comedy series Young Rock, which is based on his life.
