Ric Flair is preparing for his final wrestling match later this summer. As part of the huge event in late July, promoter Conrad Thompson has set up a roast of The Nature Boy. One of the biggest celebrities announced for the comedic celebration was former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

Tyson and Flair are no strangers. The two are even launching a new line of cannabis products. It seemed like a no-brainer to have Iron Mike roast Ric Flair if the opportunity was there.

Unfortunately, TMZ has reported that Mike Tyson has pulled out of the event. A representative for the boxing legend cited ‘unforeseen circumstances’ as the reason. Sadly, fans won’t get to see Mike trade verbal jabs with the wrestling great.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances Mike will not be participating in the roast.”

The roast of Ric Flair is set to take place on July 29 in Nashville, Tennessee. On July 31, Ric will walk to the ring one last time. At 73, Flair will soak in the adulation of the fans once more.

Ric Flair has been training with AEW star Jay Lethal to prepare for the match. Several online videos show Ric working out in the ring as the big day gets closer. Unfortunately, Mike Tyson won’t be able to be a part of the show.
