Jerry Seinfeld once spoke about the first Pop-Tart he ever had during a stand-up comedy special. Seinfeld said the popular pastry blew his mind. Now, he is taking his affinity for the sugary rectangle to the next level.

Netflix will release Jerry Seinfeld’s “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story.” According to The Wrap, the tasty flick will have a star-studded cast. Seinfeld will star, write, and direct the movie, but he’s not the only big name attached.

Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, James Marsden, Christian Slater, and more will star in the upcoming feature. The film tells the story of Kellogg’s and Post, cereal rivals who race to create the perfect breakfast pastry. The comedy is a period piece, set in 1963 Michigan.

Production for the picture is just getting underway. While the subject matter might seem strange, Seinfeld must have a strong script. He was able to attract an incredibly talented cast.

There is no release date set for Unfrosted. This will be the latest in a series of collaborations between Jerry Seinfeld and Netflix. The comedian has produced two Emmy-nominated stand-up specials for the streaming service as well as the complete “Seinfeld” series and the interview show, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”

Nobody asked for a movie about the history of the Pop-Tart. If anyone can deliver a hilarious take on the subject, it’s Jerry Seinfeld. With his new all-star cast, Unfrosted might just be a hit.
