Squid Game’s first season captivated viewers all around the world. The show has a significant impact on modern pop culture. Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show’s director and writer, has now officially announced season 2.

According to Deadline, season 2 has officially been approved. Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed the forthcoming chapter in a letter to fans, revealing who could return for it and what new character would be introduced. “Gi-hun returns. The frontman returns,” he said. “The man in the suit ddakji might be back. You also will be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su.”

Squid Game, Netflix’s most popular series, has been renewed for a second season. The follow-up was in the works. Following the huge popularity of the first season, Netflix brass, as well as the series’ writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk and the main cast, hinted at a return of the show.
