Jennifer Lopez and Shakira brought some Latin flair to the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show. The Miami crowd loved seeing the two stars on stage together. J Lo was less than thrilled about the idea.

Lopez opened up about her memorable halftime performance in a new Netflix documentary called ‘Halftime.’ The film follows her journey both to the Super Bowl and the age of 50. Jennifer Lopez hated the idea of sharing the stage with Shakira and was furious about it.

In the documentary, she airs her frustrations with her music director. J Lo thought having two performers made for a huge and unnecessary time crunch. She despised the idea.

“We have six f*cking minutes. We have 30 seconds of a song, and if we take a minute, that’s it, we’ve got five left. But, there’s got to be certain songs that we sing, though. We have to have our singing moments. It’s not going to be a dance f*cking revue. We have to sing our message.

This is the worst idea in the world to have two people do the Super Bowl. It was the worst idea in the world.”

Jennifer Lopez kept things professional with Shakira. In another scene, they are shown diplomatically discussing how time would be split between them on stage. Lopez thought the show should have been twice as long if both were going to headline. She didn’t think there was enough time for both performers to shine, and it drove her crazy.
