Darren Sharper was once one of the NFL’s most dynamic defensive backs. Sharper is a five-time Pro Bowler and was named to the 2000s All-Decade Team. Since then, his life has taken a dramatic turn for the worst.

Sharper is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for rape. The crimes occurred in multiple states and involved multiple women. While he won’t be able to do much about his incarceration, Darren Sharper has settled with three women who said the NFL great drugged and raped them in 2014, according to TMZ.

The charges were brought against Darren in a 2015 lawsuit. Two of them said they were drugged and then raped after meeting Sharper in a West Hollywood club. The third claims she was drugged and assaulted the next day in Las Vegas.

Sharper was arrested shortly after the lawsuit was filed. Several women from locales around the country then came forward with similar allegations. Sharper ultimately pleaded guilty to the charges.

The case of Darren Sharper is one of many in a long line of horrific crimes committed by ex-NFL players. He is lucky to have escaped with only a 20-year sentence. For those he harmed, the pain will last a lifetime.

Details on the settlement have not been made public. The final deal is still waiting for some signatures. Hopefully, the victims can find some justice for these terrible crimes through the deal.
