Madonna’s much-hyped biopic might have found its star. The Material Girl is one of the most complex personalities in pop music history. Finding the perfect actress to play her has been no small ordeal.

The singer teased earlier this year that Julia Fox might end up with the role. As of now, she is no longer the front-runner. Variety has reported that “Inventing Anna” star Julia Garner has been offered the part.

“Garner has emerged the favorite from over a dozen candidates, one insider added, and has for months been speculated as a frontrunner for the part — a performance Madonna will shepherd herself as director. Garner’s team is considering and expected to accept the offer, said another source.”

Julia Garner has won two Primetime Emmys for her role in the Netflix crime drama “Ozark.” Garner is on the cusp of superstardom. The opportunity to portray Madonna on the big screen would be the opportunity of a lifetime.

There is no production timeline for the anticipated Madonna biopic. The film is being produced by Universal after a massive bidding war over the scrip0t. Others who have been rumored for the role include Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, Bebe Rexha, and Odessa Young.

It looks like the part belongs to Julia Garner if she wants it. There is a pretty striking resemblance between the two. It could be the role of a lifetime if Garner does accept.
