The Denver Broncos have found their new owner. Much to the chagrin of Kanye West and Antonio Brown, it will not be Donda Sports. Instead, a new report says that one of America’s wealthiest heirs is spending a fortune to purchase the team.

The Broncos have been for sale for quite some time. Several big names, including Kanye West’s group and Magic Johnson, have shown interest. In the end, Wal Mart billionaire Rob Walton secured the purchase with a winning bid of $4.5 billion.

The initial report came from Forbes, which listed the staggering sum as the final bid for the Broncos. ESPN’s Adam Schefter took to Twitter to refute the report. At this time, he says any reports of the sale being finalized are very premature.

“Second-round bids to buy the Denver Broncos are due later today as the process continues to move along, per league sources. One source maintained today that, despite any speculation, no favorite has emerged at this time.”

The conflicting reports may not matter in the end. $4.5 billion is a ridiculous sum of money, even for a lucrative NFL franchise. There may not be another bidder willing to pony up that kind of cash.

It will be interesting to see if another last-minute bidder emerges. As it stands, it looks like Rob Walton will be the winning bidder. As in all things business, the situation could change at a moment’s notice.
