Buffalo saw a terrible tragedy, but Dave Chappelle is going to do his best to help out. He has a lot of wealth and he’s also not above giving back to those who need it.

Comedian Dave Chappelle announced from the stage on Sunday night that he arranged a last-minute gig in Buffalo to memorialize the victims of a racist shooting at a Tops store in a mostly Black Buffalo area last week.

Chappelle is donating his ticket sales following his weekend performance in Buffalo, NY by making a significant donation to the families of those who died in the city’s recent tragic shooting.

TMZ has confirmed that all of the proceeds from Chappelle’s show at the Shea’s Performing Arts Center on Sunday will go to the Buffalo people directly affected by the May 14 tragedy. Because it’s a 3,000-seat venue, Dave’s final check for the families should be substantial.

The decision to stage the stand-up show in Buffalo was made on the spur of the moment. Dave announced it on Wednesday, and tickets sold out in less than an hour.

As previously reported, a man began firing with a semi-automatic handgun at a Tops Friendly Market grocery shop, killing at least ten people, most of whom were Black. The gunman traveled several hours across New York state to reach the mostly African-American area. He not only went live on social media during the incident, but he’d also written a manifesto calling himself a white supremacist before the incident.

The gunman was arrested and has subsequently pled not guilty to the charges. The case is being investigated as a federal hate crime by the FBI. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
