Adam Sandler was on Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1995 before moving on to feature in a number of Hollywood blockbusters. Adam has always loved hoops and implemented other sports into many of his films. Adam Sandler recently appeared on livestream with a visible shiner under his left eye.

On “Good Morning America,” the 55-year-old “Hustle” star discussed the incident pointing to his black eye. Sandler explained that he received the mark on his face when he kicked up his feet in the middle of the night to untuck his bedsheets so he could retrieve his phone, which caused the phone to “fly” and hit him in the head.

I refused to acknowledge it. I felt blood and said, ‘Ah, there’s something going on, but I got to sleep.’ Kept sleeping, woke up… There’s nothing cool about this thing. It looks so cool. When I’m on the streets of New York, like, I see people going, ‘Oh, OK. He likes to fight, that guy.’ I’m like, ‘Ah, it was a bad accident.’

George Stephanopoulos, co-anchor of “GMA,” then added his two cents saying, “That is the most elaborate black-eye story I’ve ever heard.” This isn’t the first time Sandler has had a black eye on television. It’s happened before, in fact, twice.

He joked on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2014 with Drew Barrymore that his “50 First Dates” co-star was to blame for his shiner. Sandler explained that Barrymore, who was pregnant at the time, wasn’t feeling “great” backstage and that he would “take a look.”

Sandler had a different bruise on his eye in 2015 when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s special NBA Finals “Game Night” broadcast. The “Uncut Gems” star claimed he received the black-and-blue stain from a pickup basketball game he played while waiting for his tire to be changed. Check out the video below.
