Jada Pinkett Smith is best known for her recurring role as a supporting character in the sitcom A Different World. Jada recently launched a new Red Table Talk show, where she discussed her struggles with alopecia. But while she suffers from hair loss like most women her age, a doctor questions whether she really has alopecia in the middle of her head.

Dr. Gary Linkov is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Linkov specializes in facial plastic surgery and hair restoration. His practice, City Facial Plastics, is based on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York.

Media Take Out reported that the popular doctor/YouTuber believes Jada is incorrect, or at the very least inflating the extent of her “alopecia.” The doctor pointed out that what Jada refers to as “alopecia” on the top of her head could actually be a “scar” from a recent face lift.

So, he’s the real deal. He also has alopecia, which has left him entirely bald. The doctor admits that Jada has some hair loss in the video, but he assures viewers that the bulk of her hair follicles appear to be functioning normally.

Jada’s edges are a touch thin, but she still has most of her hair. Most people with alopecia have complete hair loss in spots. The doctor simply said, “Jada shaved her head, that’s why she’s bald.” The high-priced New York doctor slammed a bombshell on the bald area in the center of her head.

The coronal incision is performed from ear to ear over the top of the head and back in the hairline during a brow lift. The scar that results is hidden beneath the hair. The skin on the forehead is lifted and trimmed away from the underlying tissues, and muscles are tightened and realigned. Check out the full video below.
