Drake is a basketball fanatic as well as a master in the hip-hop world. He’s made a large purchase in the basketball card market, and he and LeBron James have donated $100,000 to a high school basketball player and his mother. Drake recently helped J. Cole with his latest basketball contract.

Cole will now represent the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League on the court. This is Canada’s finest professional basketball league, and Cole will now have the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of a large crowd ready to see him up up and personal.

In an interview with Complex, Drake’s pal and OVO founding member Nicholas “OVO Niko” Corino discussed Cole’s latest contract and how Drake was involved. Corino is a co-owner of the Shooting Stars, and Cole and Drake met into one other at a party in Los Angeles last year, which led to a discussion about the Shooting Stars.

You know, Dreamville and OVO are family. Drake had a birthday party in L.A. last year. The conversation was, ‘I heard you have your team.’ It organically grew from there.

J. Cole is one of the most talented rapper basketball players. Cole even played professional basketball in Africa last year, and he left quite an impression on fans, for those who may not recall. His games were shown on television, and his presence on the court drew a lot of interest to the league. It remains to be seen how J. Cole’s time in Scarborough will go, but it’ll undoubtedly draw a lot of attention to the league.
