Kyrie Irving might have been right about Boston Celtics fans. Irving gave the Boston faithful the middle finger on his way off the court during a tightly contested game with his Brooklyn Nets last month. Kyrie said the Boston fans have always behaved in a vulgar and disrespectful manner.

A recent poll of over 2,000 fans reveals that the sentiment is shared among NBA supporters. The sports betting experts at OnlineCasino.ca asked fans from around the league a series of questions about their experiences inside NBA arenas. The results show that Boston Celtics fans are the most vulgar and misbehaved in the league.

Celtics fans were voted the most “vulgar/trashy” in the survey. They were followed by the Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets. That behavior has even carried over to baseball, where Red Sox fans recently had some nasty words for Kyrie during a game.

The poll also asked fans what type of bad behaviors they’ve witnessed at NBA games. 50% have experienced physical aggression. 48% said they’ve seen objects thrown. Spitting and swearing were among the other major violations of good behavior cited.

Shockingly, more than half of all Boston Celtics fans admitted to throwing objects at games. 42% said they have used profanity. A ridiculous 34% admitted to spitting during games.

The Boston Celtics will kick off their Eastern Conference Finals series tonight against the Miami Heat. Miami fans who plan to travel to TD Garden for a game or two should take note. Leave the kids at home when you check out a Celtics game.
