Magic Johnson is making a push to become an NFL owner. The Denver Broncos have been on the market for a while now. Thus far, the most prominent suitor is Kanye West and Antonio Brown’s Donda Sports. That bid could now be in serious trouble.

Sportico has reported that Magic Johnson has joined Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Josh Harris in an effort to buy the Broncos. The team is valued at nearly $4 billion and has attracted a lot of interest from investors.

Kanye West and Antonio Brown have been vocal about their efforts to buy the team. Thus far, Donda Sports has served only to purchase a suite at the Super Bowl. Brown has claimed that the duo is working extremely hard to get a deal in place.

Magic Johnson has proven time and again that he has a golden touch as a businessman. He owns a piece of the LA Dodgers, the Lakers, the Los Angeles Sparks, and the LA Football Club. Magic also has heft investments in Starbucks, Cameo, Burger King, and other well-known national brands.

Magic Johnson and Josh Harris bring more money to the table than Kanye West. Forbes says Kanye is worth about $1.8 billion. Harris has amassed a fortune of nearly $6 billion. Magic Johnson’s wealth on top of that seems to make the pair the frontrunners at this time.

It does not appear as though Donda Sports will be able to buy the Broncos. Johnson’s group is experienced in sports ownership and knows what it takes to run a team. In the end, Kanye and Antonio’s bid might end up being nothing more than another publicity stunt.
