Draymond Green is one of the most outspoken players in the NBA. After being ejected from game one of the Golden State Warriors’ playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies, Green flipped the bird to the hostile fans. Green was unapologetic, and some are calling him out for it.

Chris Russo thinks Draymond should just shut up and play on today’s First Take. The always fiery JJ Reddick shot back. Reddick said Russo’s comments came with a lot of negative connotations.

“Shut up and play has the same sort of connotations as the shut up and dribble crowd has towards athletes and I have a real problem with that.

Specifically with Draymond, the idea that America is tired of him, you do realize the guy has a very, very popular podcast that he hosts where he talks to himself for a majority of the episode and people listen.”

Chris Russo has been a firebrand during his appearances on First Take. Between him and Stephen A. Smith, hot takes are always the order of the day. Fortunately, JJ Reddick was there to be a voice of reason.

Draymond Green is not too worried about the controversy. He doubled down on his obscene gesture. There has to be a middle ground, but if Draymond remains distracted, the Grizzlies might just steal the series from the Warriors.
