Charlamagne has been critical of several prominent black women, which has earned him plenty of criticism from the public. On “The Breakfast Club,” he has frequently gone back-and-forth with black women, including his own co-host, Angela Yee. Charlamagne recently took a moment to address the perception that he hates black women while having a laugh at his own expense.

Appearing Ziwe Fumodoh’s late-night talk show, Charlamagne was asked some over-the-top questions about his feelings about black women. Ziwe shared the clip on her Twitter. The wild scene that followed would make even the most seasoned celebrity blush.

Ziwe accused him of having previous beefs with Lil Mama, Cassie, Azelia Banks, Mo’Nique, and Angela Lee. Charlamagne responded by saying that beef is a strong word. Ziwe continued to corner him with an aggressive yet comedic line of questioning. She went so far as to ask him why he hates black women.

“I guess I can see where people would say that, if you want to take those three or four times and put them together in a montage.”

Ziwe then played a montage of clips from The Breakfast Club that show Charlamagne fighting with several of the black women that Ziwe named. She then asked him to donate 100% of his salary to a reparations fund for black women.

Charlamagne stopped short of promising all of his money, but did say that he hopes to do more to help lift black women up. He then named his wife and four daughters as the primary benefactors. Charlamagne may have faced some zany inquiries during his appearance, but at least he was a good sport.
