Former Miami Hurricane wide receiver, Sam Bruce was involved in a fatal car accident. We are sad to learn that he passed away after the crash. He was only 24.

According to TMZ, the unfortunate car crash happened while Bruce was on the road around 8:23 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale. The local police department told the outlet he was suffering from a seizure when they found him.

When the medics arrived at the scene they performed CPR on Bruce before taking him to a nearby hospital. He sadly lost fight with his life at the hospital on Thursday morning.

Bruce played for South Florida Express before his college, the team gave their condolences with the following statement on the death of the young star.

“We are saddened to hear about the loss of one of the greatest players to ever come through SFE,” the statement read. “Your infectious energy, and the ability to make anybody laugh will forever live in our hearts. We spoke with Sam’s family, they just ask you to pray for their family during this time.”

Bruce’s former acquaintances, family, and friends are all mourning his death. St. Thomas Aquinas high school wrote on Facebook, “R.I.P. Sam Bruce! We Will Miss You and We Love You !” Thirsty sends their condolences to his family. RIP.
