Jack Harlow has had a meteoric rise to hip-hop stardom. Jack had his first number one hit less than a year after he gained public attention for collaborating with Lil Nas X. His debut album sailed to #5 on the Billboard chart. Some rappers don’t think Harlow is fully deserving of the success.

David Banner noted that race may have been a major reason for Jack Harlow’s success. Banner talked to TMZ Hip Hop recently, where he was asked about the young star. David didn’t hesitate to bring up race.

“White people in America, white people in the world are propped up on everything. White people’s whiteness is a benefit to them everywhere in the world. Systematic racism is all over the world, so of course! Even the so-called good white people know that white supremacy and know the way dark-skinned people are treated that them being white helps them.

So, as much as they don’t want to see Black people die in the middle of the street, they know that white supremacy benefits them. So of course! I think he would tell you that. It don’t matter what you do. If white people run the structures, it’s gonna benefit them.”

David Banner’s opinion was questioned by another rap legend. DMC said that anyone who thinks Harlow’s art is only successful because of his race is ignorant. Coming from one of the ‘Kings of Rock,” that is a thought worth chewing on.

Jack Harlow’s success may have something to do with the novelty of him being white. It isn’t something that can be easily measured or tracked. David Banner is convinced that Jack had an unfair advantage from the start.
