Pat McAfee is continuing his takeover of the sports media. A former NFL punter, McAfee took the podcasting world by storm with his energetic “Pat McAfee Show.” From there, he has gone on to become a color commentator for WWE SmackDown. Pat even wrestled Vince McMahon at the recent WrestleMania 38.

Now, Amazon is looking to get a piece of the McAfee pie. The New York Post reported that Pat McAfee is in talks with Amazon about Pat becoming a contributor to “Thursday Night Football,” which moves to Prime Video next season. Nothing has been finalized just yet.

Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit will handle commentary duties for Amazon’s NFL broadcasts. It is not known what kind of role McAfee is being looked at for. A three-man booth for prime-time NFL coverage is not unheard of.

McAfee previously revealed on his podcast that he had talked to Amazon about the gig. Pat said he did not want to commit to color commentary duties due to the time commitment. He is already insanely busy.

Pat McAfee hinted at the possibility of an Amazon TNF deal earlier this week. McAfee said he was up to something. That could be an allusion to the Amazon negotiations.

Pat McAfee has made himself a bona fide mainstream star. The punter-turned media personality has a huge fanbase. Amazon is hoping they can lock him up to get some fresh eyes on their coverage of Thursday Night Football.
