Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are seen as relationship goals and there is a good reason for that. While the two are certainly happy, with them expecting a baby, not everything is going well with them. Rocky could be jailed for 14 years if convicted.

A$AP Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International airport on April 20th by detectives from LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division in connection to a shooting. This certainly shocked fans as well.

As previously reported, A$AP Rocky was also released from jail after he paid the $550k bail. Many fans have been wondering whether he will be jailed or not after the charges meted against him.

According to Hollywood Life, LA-based criminal attorney Lara Yeretsian commented on A$AP Rocky’s current situation. The attorney stated that if Rocky is convicted of the felony charge, he could face up to 14 years in jail.

The attorney added that he will have to head back to LA in just a few short weeks to face the charges and that he could be jailed for a long time. This means Rocky would miss the birth of his unborn child.

His first court date will be anywhere between a few weeks to a few months to give the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office time to file the charges.

The maximum he could face for the assault with a deadly weapon charge is 4 years.  The charge has a mandatory minimum of 6 months.

He could potentially face a lot of time if the DA’s office decides to file an enhancement alleging personal use of a firearm.

If the enhancement is filed, he would face an additional term of 3, 4, or 10 years. Of course, the judge has the power to strike or dismiss the enhancement. In other words,  the soon-to-be father could be sentenced to a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 14 years if convicted of the charges.

We will have to wait and see what will become of A$AP Rocky and whether he will be convicted or not. For his and Rihanna’s sake, we certainly hope that does not happen.
