Mark Wahlberg’s Hollywood career is nothing short of incredible. He is a true movie veteran. Despite having starred in several successful movies in the past, he now seems to be changing direction with what kind of roles he gets.

Mark most recently starred in a movie, “Father Stu,” which follows a Catholic priest who was formerly a boxer. As you may know, the actor is a devout Christian, and this role made him consider his choice of a script in future movies.

Mostly known for violent action movies, Wahlberg no longer wants to do those. While speaking with ET, the 50-year-old said his recent film made him realize he wanted to be part of more movies with “real substance.”

Wahlberg hopes this shift of line in movies can inspire other people in the industry to take similar roles in films that can “help people” by making more “meaningful content.”

“I definitely want to focus on making more,” Mark said “I wouldn’t say necessarily just faith-based content but things that will help people.

Despite being very religious himself, Mark doesn’t want to force his beliefs on his children. He also talked about being able to spend more time with family; he might consider retirement “sooner than later.” Guess we will just have to see what movies he takes up until then.
