Conor McGregor remains one of the most well known MMA fighters in the history of combat sports. McGregor’s accolades over the years speak for themselves. The Notorious is also known to trash talk often, with varied results.

On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather is regarded as one of the greatest professional boxers to have ever stepped foot inside a boxing ring. He has been credited for bringing life to other combat sports as well.

This includes his high profile boxing match against Conor McGregor back in 2017, which changed the combat sports world as we know it. While speaking to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, AEW President Tony Khan stated that he wants to bring Conor McGregor & Floyd Mayweather to AEW.

“I’m not as familiar with MMA box office as the wrestling box office. I’m thinking Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather, probably, are the two biggest draws, I think. I don’t know for sure. I’d probably say one of those two. They’re both huge stars.”

With the likes of Jorge Masvidal and Paige VanZant already having been to AEW, we’ll have to see whether Tony Khan can get McGregor or Mayweather someday as well.
