DJ Khaled has come a long way since rising to mainstream prominence in the early 2000s. He rose to popularity by working with Terror Squad as a DJ for their live performances. His career was all uphill since his debut album, which came out in 2006. His success so far was celebrated by Hollywood in a major way recently.

The 41-year-old established a career as an important figure in the hip-hop scene topping Billboard charts, including a Grammy nomination, and expanded his profile as a writer and also an actor.

DJ Khaled’s most recent accomplishment as a Hollywood Walk of Fame awardee has him feeling excited and delighted, as seen in the clip below. To celebrate his own star on the Hollywood Walk Hall of Fame, he was greeted by hip-hop legend Jay-Z, Fat Joe, and more.

Khaled, real name Khaled Mohammed Khaled, is one of the self-made people in the music world. He started as a radio show host 1990s on the radio station 99 Jamz, which led him to work with Terror Squad, eventually gaining production credits on the group’s material.

Over the last 15 years of gold and platinum albums, he has put out chart-topping collaborations with big names including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Drake, Rihanna, Kanye West, longtime friends Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, and even Justin Bieber.

R&B singer Ashanti was also one of the stars who was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 11 Monday.
