Will Smith has got himself in a tough situation. After creating an atmosphere of hostility at the Oscars, he has dug himself a hole for his career. Now reports have emerged about his talent agency cutting ties with him after the humiliating incident.

The legendary actor slapped another legend of comedy, Chris Rock in the most unprecedented situation in the history of the event. Everyone in the seats sat still with a silence that described the moment. Chris Rock was taken aback by the sudden outburst from Will Smith. Following such an event, Will’s talent agency CAA wanted to drop him.

The agency eventually stuck to supporting the actor in his tough times. The agency is led by Bryan Lourd, Richard Lovett, and Kevin Huvane. According to The Daily Beast, they clashed during a retreat at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

An internal debate over whether to drop the Fresh Prince took hold at the same time. Roughly 100 agents and executives descended upon the chichi Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes for CAA’s first leadership retreat since the event. Lourd also expressed to several attendees at the confab that he believed in CAA.

The CAA is currently in the midst of trying to acquire rival agency ICM, which Chris Rock represents. Smith released a statement, last week, apologizing for his behavior at the awards show. Surprisingly enough, he also announced his resignation from Academy membership.

Since there are no more concerns over CAA dropping Will Smith, he can let a sigh of relief. His friends stood by him in a difficult time proving once again the loyalty and devotion people have invested in him.
