Tory Lanez was in Los Angeles on Tuesday for a hearing in the Megan Thee Stallion criminal assault case, but it didn’t go as well as he had planned. The judge put the Canadian artist in custody until he can show up with $350,000 in bail money.

Lanez’s tweets were found to be in breach of the criminal protective order that had been placed against him. After about an hour of deliberation, Judge David Herriford determined that Lanez’s social media behavior was directed towards Megan Thee Stallion and that he had broken the conditions of the legal agreement.

The tweet that sealed his fate on February 23 was:

“Good D*ick had me fucking 2 best friends … and I got caught … that’s what I apologized for … it’s sick how u Spun it tho.”

Lanez’s release was subjected to an additional condition imposed by Judge Herriford, which prohibited him from mentioning Megan Thee Stallion in any way, shape, or form. The trial is set to begin on September 14, when both parties are expected to return to court.

Lanez has maintained his innocence since the shooting in July 2020. Megan, on the other hand, posted text messages from Lanez apologizing, which he said was about sleeping with Megan’s best friend, not shooting her.

Of course, the judge’s decision has sparked a flurry of emotions on Twitter. Tory Lanez is becoming a trending topic on social media, with many mocking the DAYSTAR singer’s situation.
