Cole Sprouse has seen a lot as a former child star, and he will be “violently defensive” against the people who criticize young female Disney stars. Cole Sprouse always has been supportive of the child stars who were criticized on the Disney Channel. This is no different.
In an interview with The New York Times, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody alum said that people would refer to his and his twin brother Dylan Sprouse’s success after Disney as “making it.” Young women who had roles did not have an easy time dealing with success.
Cole told the publication, “The young women on the channel we were on [Disney Channel] were so heavily sexualized from such an earlier age than my brother and I that there’s absolutely no way that we could compare our experiences.”
“And every single person going through that trauma has a unique experience,” he continued.
He shared with The New York Times that he is, ” violently defensive against people who mock some of the young women who were on the channel when I was younger because I don’t feel like it adequately comprehends the humanity of that experience and what it takes to recover.”
Cole started his acting career when he was six months old. He shared his experience saying that people always want to criticize child stars for “going nuts” but they do not think about the trauma that they have to face which comes with fame and success.
