Goonew Propped Up In Night Club For Unconventional Funeral Wake

Rapper Goonew was shot and killed in Washington, DC, a few weeks ago, according to his relatives, during an armed robbery. However, video recordings of Goonew’s deceased body standing erect at a club farewell celebration have gone viral.

The rapper’s funeral, named The Final Show, took place at Bliss Nightclub in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, and footage from inside the venue appears to show the rapper’s embalmed body, fully dressed and wearing a crown, above the crowd.

Some people are dancing to the music, while others are stone-faced and staring at the dead body in front of them. According to TooFab, Bliss Nightclub claimed they were unaware of the tribute beforehand and apologized to anyone who was offended.

The club is still looking into whether the body was real or not, as well as any legal implications. Markelle Morrow, aka Goonew, was discovered in a District Heights parking lot with deadly gunshot wounds a few weeks ago; his family suspects he was the target of an armed robbery.

In response to the backlash, Bliss put out the following statement via an Instagram story: “Our deepest condolences to Goonew’s family, friends, and fans. Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew’s home-going celebration. Bliss was never made aware of what would transpire. We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended. Please keep Goonew’s family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time. Respectfully, Bliss Management”

According to his mother, the artist decided to give up everything the suspect desired but was nonetheless shot in the back. The Prince George’s County Police Department is offering a $25,000 prize for any information that leads to an arrest or conviction.
